Surgery for The Face / Chin and Cheek Implants

Chin augmentation using chin implants

The chin is considered to be one of the main balancing points of the face. The main purpose of having a chin implant also known as a mentoplasty is to restore a sense of balance and symmetry. Sometimes chin implants are recommended along with nose reshaping in order to restore facial balance and harmony.

  • Who can benefit by having cheek implants?
Cheek implants are an enhancement that are available for enhancing the cheek if they have lost definition, or for someone who has suffered a facial injury and requires facial reconstruction. Your surgeon will guide you through everything at consultation.
  • How Are Cheek Implants Placed?
The surgeon creates a pocket between the cheekbones and its overlying soft tissues. The implant is then placed into the pocket and the incision is then sutured and dressed.
  • How long does surgery take?
Cheek implant surgery normally takes 1.5 hours to 2 hours to complete, this can vary. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic and overnight hospital stay is recommended.
